Transfer a Domain From Namecheap to ASmallOrange

In this tutorial we will use a domain bought from Namecheap and host it on ASmallOrange. In order to continue you will need:

  • A domain name from Namecheap
  • A hosting in ASmallOrange

Changing the DNS (Domain Name Server) – Namecheap

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account.
  2. Go to My Account > Manage Domains

  3. Click the domain name you want to edit
  4. On the left sidebar, click Transfer DNS to Webhost
  5. On the main panel choose Specify Custom DNS Servers ( Your own DNS Servers )
  6. Add the ASmallOrange nameservers to the input fields:
    ns1.asmallorange.com
    ns2.asmallorange.com

  7. Click Save Changes.

Note: Changes may take up to 24 hours to take effect.

Creating an Addon Domain – ASmallOrange

  1. Login to ASmallOrange Cpanel
  2. Go to Domains > Addon Domain
  3. Fill up the input fields with your domain info

  4. Optionally create an FTP account for this domain
  5. Click Add Domain.
